My name is Slim and I’m a very affectionate little girl.  My former family thought I was annoying because I cried relentlessly, so they decided to have me killed.  Fortunately, the vet they took me to – Dr. Galea – refused to murder me.  Although I had already been spayed, Dr. Galea suspected that perhaps a small portion of my ovary had been left behind and that I was simply in heat.  Instead, when he opened me up, he discovered that both of my ovaries were completely intact…only my uterus had been removed.  This angered Dr. Galea, who says that what the previous vet had done to me was criminal.  I promise that I’m not annoying anymore…it really wasn’t my fault that I felt like crying all the time.  Very recently, the vet techs who take care of me noticed that I was drinking more water than usual, so they checked my blood sugar level.  I have been switched to a special diet and I am currently receiving 1 unit of insulin twice a day.  I’ve been living in this cage for quite awhile now and I would truly love to find a forever home.  Will you please adopt me?
