Nova
had the misfortune of belonging to someone who treated her as if she didn't
matter -- they moved and left her -- alone, un-spayed, scared. Neighbors
took pity on her and fed her on occasion. She ended up pregnant -- many
times -- and raised litters of kittens. When a Felines & Friends volunteer
walked through her neighborhood, she was immediately noticed; and upon
inquiry, her sad story was related. We were able to rescue the three
kittens from her last litter (no one knows what happened to all the others)
and Nova began a new life. She is now spayed, has had her shots, has
tested negative for both leukemia and FIV and has gained a few pounds.
Although she is still leery of new people (who knows what happened to her
while she was on her own in the streets...), she warms up quickly and
responds genuinely to love and affection. She is a beautiful girl who
deserves the very best. |
