Neon was abandoned at Petco, stuffed in a box containing a total of 11 cats!  Included among the cats were her own 4 tiny kittens (only 2 weeks old at the time), as well as another mama cat, Sienna, and her kittens.  We suspect Neon is Sienna's daughter from a previous litter - they are very comfortable with one another and take turns nursing all 9 kittens.
 
Although Neon is just a baby herself, she is a very protective mama.  She lets out an angry yowl if an unfamiliar cat or a dog comes within visual range of her kittens and she has even been known to jump up and charge across the room as a warning.  Despite this bravado, though, she is strangely trusting of people, immediately allowing her new foster mom to handle her kittens.  She seemed to instinctively know that she and her kittens were safe.  Although she is clearly going stir crazy having to share childrearing duties for 9 kittens, she would love to be placed in a home with her mom, Sienna, or one of her remaining (unspoken for) kittens - Mercedes or Renegade.
