BELLA
Cream
colored, medium-sized (approximately 45-50 lbs), female
spay; German
shepherd / yellow lab mix; Born approximately April
2008.
Upon learning that this beautiful girl was on death row at
the shelter, a fellow
animal lover couldn't bear the thought of leaving
Bella behind. Thankfully, the woman acted impulsively
when she decided to save Bella's life because, once emotion
gave way to logic, it was evident to this individual that
she didn't have the necessary resources available to
care for the dog. A
loving family agreed to foster her on a "temporary"
basis, but after a
few months came and went, they approached Felines & Friends
about helping them find a forever home for
Bella.
Bella can be a bit shy at first, but is generally won over
fairly quickly with a little coaxing. She is a sweet,
loyal, and loving dog, always shadowing her foster mom.
Bella adores children and cats (even though the elderly,
ailing cats in her current foster home HATE her); however,
she is fearful of certain men, particularly those with dark
hair. In fact, she was so terrified when she initially met
her foster dad, she actually peed on the floor (even though
she's housebroken). We can only assume that she was
severely abused in the past. (So heartbreaking!) After 3
months in her current foster home, she's still
wary of her foster dad.
Bella becomes stressed if she's left alone for too long, so
she definitely needs to go to an active household where she
can be a part of the chaos. She enjoys long walks, romps in
the dog park, and frolicking at the beach. She would
probably appreciate having canine companionship too.
Through no fault of her own, Bella has been through a lot of
upheaval recently, so she is in desperate need of some
stability in her life. Please consider welcoming this
wonderful dog into your family....she'll reward you with
adoration and affection.
Bella
loves young children, loves other dogs and loves cats. She
is wary of men with
dark hair.
She loves dog parks and long walks.
