Established in December, 1990, Felines & Friends is a non-profit organization, dedicated to the continuing welfare of cats (and the occasional dog or rabbit). A core group of dedicated volunteers constantly strive to make the world a better place for our four-legged friends. We, ourselves, rescue in our own neighborhoods. We help others to rescue, spay and neuter, and ultimately find homes for the strays in their work or home environments. We counsel and educate the public on the intricacies of cat behavior, medical conditions and proper placement. We attemp to locate donations of food, litter and, of course, money, in order to meet our obligations. When there isn’t enough money in our treasury, we dig deep into our own pockets to purchase needed supplies and medicines. Many of us work extra jobs so as to be able to continue to rescue.
Felines & Friends holds weekly adoptions on Sundays, from 1 PM to 5 PM at Centinela Feed, 5299 Sepulveda Boulevard, Culver City. To view photos of our pets who are currently up for adoption, please see our "Adopt Me!" Photo Gallery.
Please Help Mijo
Mijo is a beautiful and sweet Siamese guy, approximately 7 years old. He is losing his long-time and loving home because his mommy had to go into a nursing home. We are appealing for help to pay for Mijo’s much-needed surgery. Mijo is a special-needs kitty, as he has a condition called mega-bowel. He takes medication daily, on which he functions normally. There is a highly-effective surgery for this condition, with proven results, that would eliminate the need for his daily medication, and there would be no possibility he could become constipated, something that could ultimately happen with a missed or incorrect dosage of medication. If this happens often, his bowel could perforate, and he would die. This boy is the most affectionate and caring little guy you would ever want to meet. He deserves a chance to have a normal life. If he were not a "special-needs" cat, the chances of his getting adopted would be greatly improved. Felines & Friends is trying to raise the funds for his surgery -- approximately $2200 . If you want to help Mijo, please send in a donation to Felines & Friends and mark it "for Mijo." We work with PayPal and you could make your donation through them on our website, or send to Felines & Friends, P.O. Box 2272, Culver City, CA 90232. Anyone who donates will be kept posted on Mijo's surgery, recovery and ultimate adoption. Please help little Mijo. We are grateful for your generosity.
